STARTUPS | CORPORATIONS | CONNECTED
EVENT
Axis Corporate Edition 2017 is a unique event bringing together multinational corporations and leading startups for corporate challenges, startup pitches, keynote speakers, roundtable discussions, one on one meetings and more in a fast paced event at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. Axis Corporate Edition is a must-attend opportunity for high level networking, business development, and investment opportunities.
What is a corporate challenge?
A challenge is an opportunity for corporations to boost their innovation by connecting with the most relevant startups, and for startups to find the right business partners for their technology. Each challenge is a call for startups to present their solution to a certain corporate need and the chance to forge promising partnerships. Each challenge at the Axis Corporate Edition will be marketed to over 5,000 startups in Israel and Europe.
Why now?
Thanks to the exponential growth of technology, changing market needs and growth of startups, corporations are looking outside of their own companies for new technologies. Corporations have the financial capital, business resources, and market access - but lack the ability to effectively innovate entirely on their own. Startups are creative, agile, and inventing disruptive technologies - but seek greater access to customers and markets in order to grow their business and become more attractive to investors. This has led to “open innovation” where corporations use investment, M&A, accelerator programs, joint development, or other methods to collaborate with startups and access early stage innovation.
Why Israel?
According to Invest in Israel, over 270 multinational corporations from around the world operate in Israel and the number is growing each year. Since 2011, over 140 investments have been made by CVC (corporate venture capital) firms in Israeli companies, culminating in over 40 deals valued over $500M in 2016, as per Global Corporate Venturing data. These numbers are just a few of the reasons the world’s largest companies come to Israel to find truly disruptive innovation and positive investment returns.
